The reception to the TV was awful. However, one of your associates Damon came and fixed it right away. We had asked for another robe and never received one. We were supposed to have a surprise charcuterie board and never received one. However the front desk made it better by giving us free valet parking.

Fantastic hotel!! We always stay at Shinola Hotel and we tried Hotel David Whitney for the first time and it’s definitely my favorite hotel in Detroit. So convenient to everything. We had tickets to Sting at Fillmore Theater and it was a 3 minute walk. After the show we met many other couples that attended the concert and we had a wonderful time in the comfortable bar area/library enjoying cocktails.

Everything was excellent. Check in at front desk was fantastic too. I didn’t catch her name but excellent customer service from front desk

Absolutely atrocious service for a facility of this caliber and cost. Our room was not available until after 7p on the day of check in. The front desk staff member - Desmon - was rude and condescending to my friend and I. He refused to accommodate us in any way for the inconvenience - no late check out, free drink, breakfast voucher. I had to speak to a manager to get anywhere. We were comped drinks and breakfast although other promises like Bonvoy points and drinks in the room never came to pass. We were ignored by the front desk staff and the manager for the rest of our stay to the point that it was uncomfortable to be in the lobby.

We chose this hotel due to its historic nature, and the building's beauty did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect for our first exploration of Detroit. The room was large and beautiful and quiet and dark and perfect. The lobby was lovely to hang out in. I would happily stay again and will recommend it to anyone.

Perfect spot for historic Detroit...

The historical facility is amazing, the meticulously reoworked rooms kept all of the charm yet had completely modern bathrooms.
Negatives:
I was not able to access internet, the way the internet service was set up in the web system was too confusing to navigate to actually get online. I unfortunately had to use my own hotspot. I expect a $300 room to include internet access.
