Rooms were clean, good size.

We arrived and were told the HVAC syste
was down. Got “free” breakfast and parking, but the whole building was hot and everyone was there around 4pm to check in for a 6pm concert to get to. We couldn’t just “cancel” and find a room downtown in order to get a full refund. Getting a 50% discount to an overly priced room would have been nice. And “free” breakfast for continental items? That’s bogus if the charge is $18 + for that type of food. Sad we spent $400 and had to leave by 7:30 am since it was so hot and stuffy in our room. And opening the windows 2 inches and no screens on the windows is a really bad piece of advice when checking in… no air flow. Lucky it wasn’t 100 degrees and humid or people would have been sick due to the heat. We all should have been offered the free parking, breakfast, box fan for $100 flat fee…. Definitely not impressed!

Location wasn’t great. Pool table...

Staff was very friendly and willing to help within what was possible. (e.g., a later check-out and earlier check-in and storing luggage)
The hotel is centrally located in Minneapolis with good access to the Convention center (5-10min walk) and several restaurants and a Target for any groceries.
The room was spacious and equipped with a full fridge and microwave.
Negatives:
The room was quite warm, even with the AC full on. Opening the window helped slightly with regulating the temperature inside.
The hotel is old(er), which you notice in the amenities, like the fitness center and the rooms.
If you want your room cleaned, you need to request it. During my 5 day stay, they didn't come to clean once and only filled up shower gel after 2 requests.

Everybody was very pleasant and friendly. They were doing as much as they could despite the trouble the hotel was having with their broken air conditioning.
Negatives:
There was no air conditioning and there were hairs and pills on the floors. We were hot and not provided fans. I’m sure it was tough for employees to do their best work under those conditions, so I understand if things weren’t as clean as usual. Booking also messed up our reservation by booking three rooms instead of one, so the hotel did not have my confirmation code and I had to sit on hold for 30 minutes to get it figured out with a Booking.com representative
