Positives:
I love this hotel. It’s definitely beautiful and classy and the location is perfect especially if you’re doing events downtown. The staff are always on point and always very helpful. The beds are always comfortable and I love the shower. They definitely make the room comfortable. Love that there is a refrigerator in the room and always laugh at the TV and phone in the bathroom, but I love it.
Negatives:
The property has recently undergone a name change and went from Loews to the Lofton by Hilton. In that change requires more money for nightly incidentals, which was annoying. I do Understand that hotels are nervous that guests will damage the rooms, but we went decades and decades without having these charges without many problems at hotels. They have our credit card when we check in so why not allow guests to continue to book rooms without these incidental fees and if there is a problem then that guest with the issue should have their credit catd charged. Everyone shouldn’t have to suffer because of a few people that messed up. I really struggle with the fact that hotels are continuing to go up in price and this is a very expensive hotel often almost $300 a night And you’re asking people to hold an extra $125 per night for incidental fees. That can really ruin someone’s vacation thankfully I was only there for one night but it’s still a significant amount of money if you’re staying for a weekend or longer. Also, it says on your website that the incidental fee is actually $500. If I hadn’t already stated this hotel in the past, I would’ve quickly passed by knowing if that is a ridiculous amount. In talking to the front desk staff I’m aware that the hotel has been told that this is a mistake and they still have not taken it off the website.

Check-in is at 4, and we showed up a little early (3:45) and was told our room was not ready. I enquired about our room at 4:15 and was told it was still not ready, but all other guest were given their rooms as soon as they walked in. Finally at 4:50 the room was ready. We went to Minneapolis just for a 6:00 baseball game. We had to get our luggage to the room and take off for the game, with no time to enjoy the city or to get a nice dinner before the game. We will never stay there again.
