**the outside entrance isn't exactly what it seems**- I think this was a misunderstanding that my room would have an outside entrance (it's labeled like this in the listing), instead the set of rooms I was in had an outside door (not accessable from the main hotel) and then a stairway and hall area this making the room have an indoor entrance
