Negatives:
Their reservation line sucks. I called to check on their pet policy and if they would have a fee for an ESA. I had to ask the same question to the guy because he kept repeating himself about how they don’t discriminate pets. Like I get that, but do I have to pay the $75 pet fee for my dog if he is an ESA? Finally, he says yes and that only service dogs would have the fee waived. Okay, cool. Then he tried to have me book a room with him that would have costed $169 at least. I told him booking.com was only $129 with taxes and fees. And he said booking.com could not guarantee room? I told him I just wanted to find a room and he kept telling me about their rewards program. So I end up booking the room on booking.com 20minutes before I arrived because my first hotel’s reservation line at Holiday Inn lied to me about allowind ESA’s (they only allow service dogs, which I found out through their front desk). I come to Sonesta’a front desk and I tell them I booked through a third party. The lady searches for my name and then asks if I booked recently. I told her like 20minutes ago. And she said they couldn’t accomadate me because they were fully booked and that third party reservations are not guaranteed, etc. I asked her if they were fully booked recently, and she said no. So I told her I was confused as to why their reservation line kept trying to sell me a room and had 3 different options available if they were fully booked. She told me she didn’t knkw why they told me that and that their reservation line doesn’t know anything (which I believed from my previous experience at Holiday Inn). She then tells me the only thing they had available was a suite that costed $305 and I would have to pay out of pocket ($381 with their $75 pet fee which I most likely would have had to pay even with my originaly reservation as it did not included the pet fee in the $129 total). It was 10pm at night at this point and my husband had a headache, so I booked the suite. I called booking.
