Recent Reviews
Positives:
The location and all the different things to do on the grounds of Union Station
Negatives:
The floor in our bathroom looked dirty, the hot water faucet on our sink was broken. We never had housekeeping clean out room/bring new towels/empty our trash over the course of 3 days and 2 nights.

Wish I had more time...
Positives:
The atmosphere and staff were great. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The soda shop had delicious hamburgers. The location was good. Getting our truck out of valet was quick
Negatives:
Our room was disappointing. The shower had hair in the drain, which game out when I went to take my first shower. The shower would fill up while showering. One of the lamps didn't work and couldn't be repaired. It was in need of updating. not enough outlets for my electronics, Just not what I expected for a Hilton Hotel.

Positives:
Walking distance to aquarium & restaurants.
Swimming pool was nice.
Negatives:
Refrigerate didn't work & hotel was notified shortly after checking in & was promised they would replace it, they never did. No complimentary breakfast unless you had star on key card, wasn't told anything about a complimentary breakfast or any breakfast being served in hotel. Tried to use phone to call for room service, phone didn't work. Didnt like having to Park across road & no way to carry in luggage unless you paid for it.

Disappointing
Positives:
All the staff was very friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, helpful...
We especially were impressed with "Randy The Mayor" - outstanding bell hop!!! He has been with the Hotel 39 years. He made our stay special.
The facility is iconic with amazing character.

Great 50th anniversary celebration.
Positives:
The historic building property of St. Louis Union Station Hotel, Curio by Hilton, was an almost perfect choice for my family to stay the night while enjoying the local sights, foods and experiences before we took the short train ride (right outside of Union Station) directly to our Cardinals & Dodgers baseball game, at Busch Stadium.
The majority of Union Station’s architectural exterior and larger interior public rooms and spaces have been restored and preserved to their former glory, making it a unique hotel property within downtown St. Louis.
The back parking area (which used to be the entrance to the shopping area of Union Station between its public transportation life and its now lodging and hospitality life) now welcomes visitors with an ice cream and soda fountain grille (and lots of candy) as you enter the Union Station Hotel property.
As you walk passed the grille, you are greeted by a massive entertainment, shopping and restaurant village-like area, the entirety of which has a semi open-air (partially-covered) roofing structure that allows just enough sun and weather through to allow for that authentic outside feeling while still protecting you from the hot Summer heat.
Within this complex, there is a large Koi pond, stocked with different fish, some up to 200 years old. Along the pond, on either side, are restaurants and plenty of outdoor seating and tables to enjoy the weather, watching your children play or just to relax.
Walk up a few short steps passed the grille and you will enter into an East Coast-like boardwalk atmosphere, complete with upscale seafood restaurant, Landry’s, and all kinds of activities and entertainment for your children or grandchildren: tossing balls into hoops, darts and balloons, football, popcorn, candy, and anything else your little ones could want.
To one side of the games (although seasonal) are real Pullman train cars - one of which is designated The Polar Express (we will be going back during Christmas).
Negatives:
The weekend we stayed, there happened to be a large wedding and wedding party there, in one of the massive public rooms, on-site. I get it - we’ve all been to weddings and understand the many variables that seem to pop-up and veer intended plans off-course. It just happened to overwhelm the staff this particular weekend. By no means would I call it bad service, but they were definitely spread thin: 300+ wedding guests and a wedding party, switching rooms, cleaning and turning-over rooms to new guests is a lot of work.
Again, it wasn’t bad service…maybe just service delayed due to an inordinately large wedding party.
The small things that always make the difference in hotel service seemed to suffer from the overbooking (or possible understaffing) of the wedding party: multiple luggage mistakes (first, not arriving to the room at all, then arriving to the wrong room, no early check-in and early kitchen closing (for a St. Louis hotel) were our only issues. And 2 of those 3 were understandable due to the wedding.
We had a great time at a very fine property.
