We did a city tour and discovered that the building was an old shoe factory, part of the old-fashioned district, and you can see it still has some of it's old look. The ceilings have been left retro. Great staff, helped us with the tour.

When I checked into my room, it hadn't been cleaned. Bed was unmade, towels all over the floor. They got me into a new one but it took forever, the place seems really understaffed. The folks who were there were clearly doing the best they could and were helpful when they were free but there were 2-3 guests that needed help for every one person

We enjoyed our stay and...

The location was pretty good - a 25mins walk to the gateway arch
Negatives:
The bed and pillows were so uncomfortable - I could barely sleep.
The hotel had no atmosphere at all.
The bar area was shut and the restaurant looked like a ghost town (although apparently was open)
The room was clean unless you looked behind the furniture - which was very unpleasant.
A real shame because the building had character and a short walk away at the Museum hotel was a lively beautiful version of what this could be.

Unfortunately disappointing
Positives:
Really liked the vibe of the hotel and the ground floor. Very convient to visit St.Louis + the city museum.
We absolutely loved the rooftop pool and the views.
Negatives:
The equipment wasn't the best. Beds at the pool were broken, tiles moved and out of place... the furniture wasn't taken care of. There was horrible music at the pool all day, this made people talk very loud and then it was overwhelming.
The worst part was that the clients weren't great... the hotel staff didn't do anything about it. Families letting their kids run around in the pool, some of them getting hurt. Babies not being watched by their parents. Lots of loud parties on the roof, women playing music in the pool with alcohol. Not a very family friendly atmosphere. When the staff was informed, they took no action.
