Positives:
It was just the perfect staycation for our 30th Anniversary. The location was perfect. It was in the heart of the Blackstone Midtown Crossing area. Downtown was just a few miles away. The pool area was very relaxing and beautiful. Our room with the balcony was clean. It was nice to enjoy breakfast and dinner on the balcony. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast choices were great. We got the package that included breakfast.
We ate onsite at the Committee Chophouse. My husband enjoyed his steak. My favorite was the brussel sprouts.
Negatives:
Our Anniversary is around the July 4th holiday. Therefore, unbeknownst to us, The Kimpton is a very popular staycation venue during that time. The pool/bar area was a little crowded for us. We wanted a more relaxing vibe.. If you enjoy a good socially packed atmosphere, you might enjoy it. We would definitely go again, but probably not during a holiday week.

The hotel is a grand old hotel, and the Committee Chophouse is excellent.
Negatives:
We arrived in the evening, and the hotel valet told us that we had to pay $35 for parking, whether we self-parked or used the valet. The front desk confirmed that all parking nearby was paid parking. We found free street parking just a block away, which restaurant staff (not hotel staff) confirmed was very easy and available. The fact that two hotel staff members lied to us just as we started our stay really turned us off from this property.

Positives:
This property was literally one of the best I have ever stayed at and I am someone that travels often. The outside of the building had an older feel but the inside was so well-taken care of and absolutely beautiful. The whole property had a very relaxing vibe to it and great amenities. The pool area was dreamy and the drinks we had from the outdoor bar were delicious. The fitness center was a good size and had a wide variety of equipment. The hotel even provides yoga mats for use that have been cleaned and sanitized. The staff was exceptional and so accommodating. Sam was awesome at getting us checked in quickly and making sure we were all settled. Our room was so cute and the beds were so comfy! We also had several windows and I'm a lover of natural light so it was great throughout the day. We would definitely stay here again!
Negatives:
This hotel was amazing so we don't have any complaints but maybe some know-ahead things:
1. Right now (July '24) there is a lot of construction and some that blocks the main street in front of the hotel from one side.
2. The rooms are pretty dark at night, which is great for sleeping but there was not a lot of light that could be made in the room from the two lamps we had. Bathrooms were very bright but rooms were very dim.
