Traveler's Inn Carlin NV near Elko

Negatives: I have already spoken to one of your people about the disaster of this hotel and all that occurred. First of worst of all, we asked for a hotel in Battle Mountain, Nevada and you gave us one in Carlin, Nevada which is 50 miles further east.

Negatives: 1. Booked a smoking room, none at property. Falsely advertised. Was 24 degrees outside. Uncomfortable to smoke to say the least. 2. Staff came into room unannounced at 11 pm accidentally then when confronted claimed "was showing another guest their room" Didnt knock. Didn't ask if anyone was in the room. Terrible experience. Would make a formal complaint but im too lazy to deal with it. Shower wasnt separate from the bathroom. Unpleasant.

Negatives: The property was dirty on the outside. Breakfast was just cereal, milk, juice and coffee. The ice machines did not work and another guest mentioned he had to be moved to another room because the toilet wouldn't flush.

Negatives: This was by far the most unsanitary business establishment we have ever stayed at. It was so dirty we could not even shower, there were bugs in the tub. The toilet had crusted urine and hair on it and the bowl did not appear to have been cleaned in quite some time, if ever. In fact, I dont think they clean the rooms at all. We slept with clothes tucked into our socks and on top of the beds as we were nervous to catch bed bugs. It said non-smoking reservation, but the rooms and hallway smelled strongly of smoke and there was a burn hole in a comforter that had never been replaced. The water damage and soggy baseboard under the sink looked as though they potentially had mold and our smoke detector in the room was disconnected with wires hanging out and was non functional. This is only the beginning of what was wrong at this hotel. The management was extremely rude and unprofessional and did not honor the rate we booked at through booking.com and could not provide any explanation for why. This is NOT a place to stay, even if a last resort. There are massive health concerns as well as code violations at this business, they should be condemned until they fix their property issues.

Negatives: The facility is in the process of being upgraded.

Negatives: No signs to access, which is a "back road" behind a truck stop and gas station. The lobby wreaked of cigarette smoke. when I arrived, having pre-booked with payment and confirmation number, I was told 1) there was no room available, 2) there was no booking under my name. It took 1/2 hr, 4 staff and a staff phone call to figure out the reservation. The room was barely cleaned - dead insect parts on the bathroom sink, some hairs in the bed, the shower drain cover not attached, thin towels, TV remote had some type of substance on it. Breakfast was basically non-existent. Cereal only. I'd say a typical itinerant road stop or quick meet up place. I would not stay again. I had to cancel a 2-night stay and rebook a 1-night stay. Over a week and waiting for the refund for the 2-night booking.

Negatives: The room was dirty. The towels had black grease on them. The toilet had not been cleaned. I'm not convinced the bedding had been washed. And, though the reservation was supposed to be $---, I was charged $---!

Negatives: The staff were the absolute worst. The place was utterly filthy.

Negatives: Run down, dirty. I dont think the back of the toilet had been cleaned in months. Breakfast was pretty sorry- a bag of mini muffins or a bowl of cereal

Negatives: It was so dirty and disgusting. The first room they showed me. I didn't believe it was cleaned. There was what looked like blood on the blow dryer, dust, and black fingerprints on everything. There was obviously a hole in the bathroom where they took a cubord door and just screwed it over the whole. There were leaves, dirt and debris all over the counters and the floor. There were hand prints all over the mirrors and windows. I asked to be moved, and the second room really wasn't much better. Dirt all over the floor and counters, thick dust on everything, black fingerprints, etc. Two mini fridges, one that was leaking. I asked for it to be removed from the room and the room to be cleaned, which it wasn't. All the owner did was mop the bathroom floor. Because it was the only hotel within a 30-mile radius with a room available, I had no other option. I ended up buying my own sheets, pillows, towels, shower curtain, and cleaned the room myself to be able to stay. I found out on day two that two women, who were also attending the wedding, had my friends son stay in the room, thankfully. The night prior, the owner tried to enter their room at 130am when he saw the son he looked shocked, then said room service and left. Another gal at the wedding was called at 2 am, saying there was pizza at the front desk for her. She explained that she didn't order any pizza. The owner said he had ordered it for her, and she should come downstairs and hang out with him. Little to say, all of us females had men walk us to and from our rooms and put the ironing board in front of the doors. We attempted to use the chain lock, but all of them were broke. Also, we all left the day after the wedding instead of staying the full time we originally planned. There is so much more. There was a leak on the second floor. Everything was disgusting. Repairs were mostly duck tape and jerry rigged. The owner told me he had two other hotels in oregon.
