People are amazing. Very professional and helpful. The hotel is very clean and in a great location. There is a bus stop next to the hotel, which makes it easy to commute to New York by bus.
Negatives:
The breakfast does not have any green salads. In fact, the breakfast meal selection is a total emergency that needs to be escalated to the CEO of La Quinta. I understand the need to be cost-effective, but the quality of the ingredients and the variety of the breakfast dishes is a total disaster compared to the great quality of La Quinta. Staff and Guests are super awesome and they more than make up for the sparse breakfast. Nevertheless, please fix the breakfast with fresh, high-quality greens and eggs, and overall higher quality ingredients.

It was comfortable & clean. The pool was nice, but could’ve been warmer considering it’s indoors and December. The breakfast was delicious! Try the waffles — you won’t be disappointed.

This was a relaxing getaway...
Positives:
The room at La Quinta by Wyndham Clifton/Rutherford was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. It had all the amenities I needed, and I was pleased with the overall quality. The environment was quiet, allowing me to get a good night’s sleep after a long day of travel.
Negatives:
Unfortunately, my check-in experience left much to be desired. I arrived at 2 AM after a long day of travel, exhausted and eager to check in. The process started smoothly until I was informed of a $100 deposit requirement.
This caught me off guard because there was no mention of the deposit in the Hotel Policies or Important Information sections on Booking.com — the places you’d expect to find such details. I only discovered this after my stay, hidden in the Q&A section, buried among other questions. This lack of transparency is highly frustrating.
At check-in, my card was declined for the deposit due to insufficient funds, as I hadn’t anticipated the charge. I calmly explained the situation and pointed out that the deposit policy was not clearly disclosed. The receptionist, however, was indifferent and simply reiterated that the deposit was mandatory, with no effort to address my concerns or offer alternative solutions. I eventually used another card to pay the deposit, but the lack of empathy and professionalism during this interaction left a bad impression.
When booking a hotel, clear communication of policies is essential. Burying critical information in a Q&A section is not acceptable, and staff should be trained to handle such situations with understanding and care. I expected better from a Wyndham property.
