The bill was ~$340 per night over the MAXIMUM rate posted on the door. When I called for an explanation, I did not receive a satisfactory answer as to why. Seems like the state of New York is serious about MAXIMUM RATE - $599 when they post it in RED CAPS on the door. Either the hotel is purposely overcharging via a third party (and over the rate allowed) or I misunderstand the MAX RATE, or worse, the Hotel's door posting is out of compliance or BOOKING. COM is out of compliance for not providing full disclosure. If I have time I will call corporate and or file with the FTC.
