It was very nasty- I reached out to the front desk to come and clean refrigerator, to bring a working hair dryer and to bring toilet paper. I was told I have to give them time because they were short staffed however this should have been taking care of before I checked in. Also this is a very old hotel with no updated features yet they charge the same price as surrounding hotels that have exceptional stay and facilities. They never addressed the non working appliances and hung up on me when I call for assistance stating I had to wait. This was the absolute worst hotel experience I ever had and I definitely would never return

Price was almost double my last stay here, which was also for a Friday night.
Room stank of cigarettes, requested a non smoking room and was informed their rooms were all non smoking. If this wasn’t a smoking room it damn well used to be. Reception gave us lemon scented cleaner to spray in room which did almost nothing.
Both chairs in room (169) were worn out and fraying.

Room and beds were comfortable, supplies adequate without needing for the room to be made up. Easy access to shopping
Negatives:
Breakfast lacked healthy/protein options (except for the yogurts which were of course quite sugary - suggesting a few "plain" yogurts).
I was okay with climbing stairs to the second floor but the lack of an elevator should be listed on the hotel site for those with really heavy luggage.

Had somewhere to sleep and was only there about 7 hours.
Negatives:
Room wasn't clean, roaches, bad odor of cigarettes in the non smoking room. The tub was busted, had a used bar of soap left for us to use and large store bought shampoo and conditioner bottles for use by all the guest(never have seen anything like that before). Breakfast is pretty much waffles and area is so small and crowded that I just got a yogurt and left. You get all this for 200.00 dollars plus taxes and 2 pet fees for 1 night

We asked for a recommendation for a place to eat and were given the name of a restaurant in Lockport near the canal. We really enjoyed the meal at Stooges, and then we were close enough to walk down to the locks.
