Negatives: The breakfast was decent but could have been better. It was decent but not great. The gym could use a leg machine (e.g., leg extension or leg press), but was otherwise sufficient.

Negatives: the street

Negatives: A 350 dollar deposit is mandatory at check in. This was not mentioned on booking.com and one week after leaving the money isn’t back yet. Bad price/quality ratio but I guess that applies to the whole of NYC. The bed was rather small and soft

Negatives: The bed sofa was a bit too worn out. I could feel the metal rings and the hard surface of the sofa. Also, they didn’t give a proper blanket, it was so thin like a sheet. I asked at the customer service desk to give an extra blanket, but never got it.

Negatives: Breakfast 1) breakfast items (from plate, knifes, forks, spoons, milk, yoghurt, etc.) are totally misplaced: If 50 people have breakfast at the same time, at least 10 are waiting to access the milk/yoghurt in the fridge, which is place UNDERNEATH the cereal section. Same for the cutlery - placed in drawers underneath the food. You spend most of your time on waiting. 2) There is a nice option to self-make wafles, you have to get a portion of prepared dough. From a sustainability perspective, this is a nightmare: You have to use disposable plastic cups for this. Every day, this produces enourmous amounts of plastic waste. 3) There are huge flyers in the elevators that celebrate the "over 400" varieties of breakfast you can have by combining the available food. This is "slightly" exaggerated - during our 5 days stay, we experienced breakfast variety only once. Most of the time, many things were missing from the breakfast buffet and the staff didn´t refill anything (or couldn´t refill?). It didn´t make a difference, if we had breakfast about 45 minutes before the breakfast buffet is closed (at 9am during weekdays) or whether we came there at 7.15 am. Things that were missing were: Coffee (was kindly refilled after about 10 persons asked for it), egg omelettes, bagels, fruit juice, breakfast muffins, chocolate spread (nutella), knives, forks, spoons, etc. - literally there were more things missing than available. Every day something more was missing.

Negatives: Noisy group of people in corridors at 2am, Breakfast room would need more tables, The hotel "parking" is more a street where dealers wait for customers and hotel charge 45$ for that?

Negatives: Housekeeping did a mediocre job - didn't always replace things like towels, soap, kitchen towel, tea, etc. Bed was very squeaky whenever I would move and kept me awake.

Negatives: The room and bathroom were not properly cleaned. There was a lot of hair on the bathroom floor and even on towels. AC is extremely loud, so it's impossible to sleep when it's ON. Also, the machine hasn't been cleaned, so it's probably even healthier when it's off. There was a kitchenette in the room, but no stove and not enough amenities to really cook something. Only a fridge and microwave. The stuff was not professional at all. One morning, the cleaning ladies were cleaning the room next to ours at 7 am. They were extremely loud, literally screaming and shouting to each other. They left the door open so the whole corridor could hear them. The breakfasts were really disappointing. No vegetables at all, no freshly made scrambles eggs or bacon, everything processed (e.g. ready to heat up small burgers). There is not enough stuff taking care of breakfast and not enough fiod, so often there is nothing to eat because everything is gone. Also, the dining area is too small for the number of people sleeping in the hotel. It was too expensive for such poor quality. Basically, it is an old hotel which would be a 1 star-hotel in any European city.
