The hotel is in an excellent location and has very helpful and friendly staff. The breakfast was plentiful and quite nice. One can definitely notice the age of the hotel once you enter the rooms, but it had everything we needed for our stay. The bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet.
Negatives:
Some new furniture and a general overhaul of the hotel is necessary. The reception area is modern and nice however the rooms never left the 80s and early 90s.

Housekeeping didn‘t clean the room during the whole stay of 3 nights! Don’t know what went wrong.
Room on the 7th floor was very dark. But you have to count with that in Manhattan. On the other hand, the room was quiet. Windows could not be opened.

Great hotel, right in Midtown. Very reasonable price, just two blocks away from Times Square. Room was very high up, so it was super quiet, and extremely comfy beds. Breakfast included!
Special mention to all the front desk and breakfast staff, who went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

In the heart of the...
Positives:
The location is very good, right between Hell's Kitchen, theatre district and Times Square, which are all easy to walk to. Public transit is very close as well. The complimentary breakfast was very good and included fresh fruit, waffle maker (and compote toppings), scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurt, cereal, breads, etc.
The staff were extremely friendly, especially the ladies in the breakfast room.

Shower/bath fixtures could use an upgrade but the water pressure was great.

location, close to the metro. large room, large bed, air conditioning, fridge, kettle, friendly and helpful staff (reception and dining room), staff always smiling, silence, delicious salsa. there were no problems with the elevator (you didn't have to wait long)

repetitive breakfasts (almost the same every day - change of one or two ingredients. no cheese, cold meats, vegetables, etc.), poor lighting in the room

Rooms were very clean and spacious. Breakfast was good and the staff in the breakfast area were amazing at keeping things clean and tidy.
Negatives:
Overall the location couldn’t be better. Mid-town NYC all major sights walkable or if preferred the underground was at one end of street and the ferry close by too. The street outside looked dirty and a number of homeless people were around at night sifting through the rubbish left outside for collection in the street by the hotels. This was a little off putting but we never felt in danger just sad at the state of affairs in NYC where the homeless are concerned. By the morning all rubbish had been collected and street cleaned up.
