Everything was amazing in this hotel. The room, the location, the very friendly staff. All our requests were attended.

Unfortunately they overcharged me on my card and that kind of spoil things for me. According to Booking, my reservation was done in a way that I was only meant to pay my stay upon arrival. The amount I would pay for a no-show would be the amount regarding the 1st night and nothing more. Turns out the hotel put a hold on my card for the whole amount of the stay, when in reality I would just pay for half of it along with my friend. How can they do this without consulting me. I have been using Booking in hotels in Europe for a long time and never had this experience. They overcharged 500 dollars even after me and my friend paid the whole amount of the stay plus a deposit (that was returned at checkout).
Because they took this money I couldn't not truly enjoy my stay in NYC because I no longer had money to spend. So I asked them for breakfast vouchers to help me get my meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can only imagine the humiliation that this was for me. As I said I don't understand why the hotel took this liberty I did not consent to this. Someone in the finance department did a big mistake and it took a major blow on a trip that was supposed to be memorable for other reasons. I'm very disappointed and I don't understand how this was possible as the instructions on Booking about the payment never told me that I had to have all this amount of money available on hold. What do they think people do to have so much money available? This is a mid range hotel. If i had all this money, i would have gone somewhere else.... It is crazy for me to believe this was possible. They send my balance to negative. It was horrible.
