Positives: Great room with phenomenal view over the skyline of New York. Also the location is excellent and the staff is always friendly.
Negatives: We arrived 2,5 hours early and the receptionist told us that they have a very nice room for us ready but if we want to checkin early we would be required to pay an additional $75. We rejected this kind offer, as did the elderly couple who came right after us. Naturally I would not expect from any hotel that a room must be available early, but if it is for some reason I'd expect them to be so kind and let us checkin. I have never seen anything like that here in Europe, maybe that's an American or New York thing. To us this was insulting. Also the breakfast was basically just yoghurt and fruits or some pastries if you didn't upgrade your breakfast. Even then I expected more for that price because I have seen much better from other big hotel chains (like citizenM) with more competitive prices.

Very good

Positives: We arrived early and it was nice that we could have a cooked breakfast on site at the restaurant. The elevators ran quickly, and the staff were always available to help. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and our room (Junior King Suite) was very spacious, with lots of light and windows with good black-out blinds. Very quite too! The view from the Panorama Room on the roof was spectacular. The island setting was very accessible to the Manhattan area, with lots of options to get around (tram, subway F line, or ferry).
Negatives: No complaints here!

Positives: Oh my God! What a discovery. It’s a hidden gem. I don’t feel any neighborhood in New York is as safe, calm, peaceful with a view to die for.
