The location is superb for so many 'must see' parts of New York. About a 10-15 minute walk from Grand Central Station (good for connecting from JFK and reaching all parts of NYC). Close to 5th Ave, Lexington Ave, Central Park, Times Square and Rockefeller Centre. The staff were friendly and the rooms were really comfortable, especially the beds, which is a plus after walking about 10 miles a day around the city!
Negatives:
Nothing to detract from the hotel but a couple of things to be aware of. 1, they ask you for a $100 security deposit per room, per night which we weren't aware of before, so budget for that. Obviously, you get it refunded back to your card if there are no charges to be made. Most hotels will ask you for a card swipe to secure the room, but they charged the above amount here. Also, it says breakfast included, which is only partially true. The charge for breakfast is fixed at $25, and they give you a $25 dollar allowance towards that, but it is PER ROOM. So if you have a room with two people, you will only get half the breakfast charges. Again, you need to budget for that. The terms are clear in the 'before you go' advice but hey, who reads every word? (Not me). Having said that, the breakfasts were delicious.

Our bathroom flooded for some unknown reason but the staff were super responsive and got us moved quickly. The mattress on the fold out couch could be replaced.

Great location and comfortable stay
Positives:
The breakfast in the restaurant next door was nice if you are traveling alone… but pricey for 2. The location is quiet, staff friendly and helpful. The wine between 5-7 pm was such a treat to enjoy and relax in the lounge. We enjoyed the proximity to so many walkable or easily reachable sites.

I didn’t know till the last day there was a fitness facility in the SC level… perhaps I wasn’t listening on arrival

The rooms are not maintained. We have communicated with the hotel prior to arrival that the room can accommodate 2 adults + 2 kids. The sofa bed that was offered was in a bad condition. The mattress was filthy, it completely sunk into the floor and could even hold a child’s weight. The bathroom door was unhinged and was not able to close. We have requested the front desk to prepare the sofa bed and it was never made. We had to call continuously for staff to bring the appropriate beddings, soap coffee and the staff could never get it right.
