Positives:
Good location, reasonably clean. Front courtyard was covered by scaffolding - It appears some renovations are going on. A/C worked very well.
Negatives:
Staff were not particularly friendly or accommodating. As an example: bathroom towels and floor mats were missing, and when we asked for them, were told they would be brought up, but never were. Each day the room was cleaned and each day we did not have a full set of towels.
The shower handle was broken, so was awkward to use.
No fan in the bathroom (or not working) so very humid in the room.
Plastic on mattress, only covered by a thin sheet, so very hot and not comfortable to sleep on plastic.
Overall, the hotel needs renovations and repairs.

The hotel was disappointing and...
Positives:
The location was great! The staff was very accommodating as I had to change check in and out dates due to a cancelled flight. The property was very clean and well maintained. This will be my go to when visiting NYC. Walking distance to Times Square and the Empire State Building.
Negatives:
The breakfast could have been a lot better. Not a lot of options and pretty much depleted by 8:30-9

The only thing decent about this hotel was the location.
Negatives:
This place was TERRIBLE!!!! Avoid at all costs.... The facilities were incredibly run down and dirty, the staff was rude and unaccommodating, and the entire place was gross. For over $700 a night, get your money's worth ELSEWHERE!! The floors were disgusting and unclean, the bed was squeaky and uncomfortable, the in-room AC function was uncontrollable, the walls and door were falling apart, just simply terrible. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go elsewhere. I never leave reviews, but this place was too bad to miss...

Absolutely nothing , never even consider another stay at Hotel Hayden!
Negatives:
Rooms were terrible needed painting and furniture upgrades. Had to return down to lobby twice to request change of rooms due to poor condition of beds, air conditioning not working, and poor condition of fixtures. In my last room I requested maintenance to fix light and adjust air conditioning, but no one ever came, and no follow-up from front desk or management

Negatives:
I didn't stay here because when I showed up at midnight, I was told there was no record of my booking and I had to find another hotel nearby with a huge suitcase. This complaint is not about the hotel, but Booking.com since despite my efforts to reach out to customer service, there hasn't been any reaction. Now I am leaving NYC.

The hotel is in a fantastic location only a short walk from Penn Station. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was large and surprisingly quiet and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was self serve and regularly topped up by the smiling staff member. I found this hotel such good value for money and so central that I returned after spending a few days in Boston.

Two (2) of their Frontdesk employees are rude. Jenny and the bald man also the skinny man. They were terrible at dealing/handling with guests concerns definitely need to be trained well in customer service…However, there are employees that are helpful like Eddy, Tyler, Robin, Angeles and Shantal.
