The location and views were amazing

When arriving the room was not ready even though we arrived after few hours after check in time. We waiting for around 1 hour before our room was ready and then our card to the room didn’t work. This took away time we could explore the city. The hotel did give me a small discount to compensate for this.

The room had a couch and little side table, the view of downtown from floor 35 was awesome, breakfast was great and had take away containers, 4 elevators working, airport transfers desk downstairs, location in the same block with 2 different, subway lines and short walk to others, the size of the room felt really good,
Negatives:
Bathroom was small but perfectly adequate although right off the rest of the room which may be a little awkward for some people but really not an issue.

The location was safe and the hotel was clean and comfortable. Our view was also very nice.
Negatives:
The elevators took a long time to arrive. One day, we had to go down 36 flights of stairs because the elevator did not arrive for over 30 minutes. There were so many people going down the stairs, that I assumed the elevators were broken. We were all in a lot of pain for the rest of our trip.

The elevators, there were only four for a 42 story building, in addition one of them broke during the day so it was really difficult, especially in the morning to be able to reach the ground floor without waiting for at least 15 minutes.
That feeling of being trapped every morning at your floor, knowing that in case you forgot anything in the room would have taken an additional 20 minutes waiting for the next elevator up and down was rather unpleasant and capable of ruining our daily routine. I have lived in New York City and I have been visiting friends for 15 years, staying at several hotels in many different parts of Manhattan, that was the first time where I have encountered such an annoying problem with the elevators.
I frankly hope that they can fix this issue because apart from that the rooms are comfortable, cozy and spotless clean, and the location is absolutely optimal.

Positives:
Great location, close to the subway and within walking distance to a lot of sightseeing, like the Enpire State Building, Flat Iron and Grand Central Station. It was close to 5th Ave, too, so great if you’re going shopping. The staff were kind and held our suitcases after check-out. Rooms were an alright size for three, maybe a little crowded at times, but it’s New York so we didn’t expect much bigger rooms. We had a great view of the Empire State Building and Hudson Yards which we enjoyed.
Negatives:
The breakfast could have more options and there weren’t many seats at all. There were times we either had to miss it or take it up to our room because of this. The elevators also could take quite a long time.
