Excellent hotel in a brilliant location. Great coffee shop, lovely rooftop bar and friendly staff

Location was very convenient and the staff at the reception super helpful. Nothing was ever too much trouble. There was also free coffee and wine from the coffee shop and bar downstairs. Very nice indeed.
Negatives:
It was a bit firm over matter. The room, like most hotels in NY, was very small and I thought the design style trumped the functionality. There is pretty much zero wardrobe space, meaning you are living out of the suitcase. Since there is nowhere to put it you do end up tripping over it all the time. The rooms are also quite dark inside.

The fire alarm going off twice in a night. Water and clean glasses weren't automatically refreshed so you had to get yourself. Plus the water was charged to the room. At over $3000 for a weeks stay, water would have been basic.
