Moxy NYC East Village

Negatives: The breakfast wasn't good. Very simple and expensive. The room was very small, no closet, no trash bags in the toilet and no trash in the room. The price is very high and resort fees included in price and no needed.

Negatives: There is complimentary coffee in the am, BUT NO TEA! Arggh!!! I find the daily event fee annoying, but that seems to be ubiquitous in NYC. Moxy gives credit for the fee at the cafe so you can use your fee to help pay for breakfast.

Negatives: We had a great stay, but I just noticed a few things more so than our other NY stay at another property. Firstly I would avoid taking the subway from union square (north of hotel) and go south- it’s the same distance but union square just is a bit busy, smelly, gross. South is a really nice area and actually walk, you can walk down to soho and there’s some lovely shops, food and drink which we didn’t spot when visiting soho previously. Prince street pizza was one highlight. The room itself, toilet seat loose, toilet blocked up quite easily, the room tv remote wasn’t really working efficiently. But these were minor and in fairness we didn’t bother telling anyone as we only had two nights and it wasn’t a major inconvenience- I’m sure they’d of fixed these things. This is picky, but we use the subway, and I found the 4,5,6 lines we use to get from here to around the City, always felt a bit more long/complex, than other areas. We can still get about on the subway but it just felt more a burden. For reference we stayed at the World Trade Center area the week prior, and found the subway was further from everything but it just felt quicker as it was a short walk, then you’re on way subway to get to most places and it wasn’t a silly way underground to get too. I would recommend this area if you’re staying in New York personally.

Negatives: No safe in the room

Negatives: Bathrooms not private enough - plastic enclosures in the middle of a room and no sound privacy. Sink outside bathroom but also no surface space except shallow sink so everything on the sink surface got wet. Needs a better and more functional design for more than one person in a room.

Negatives: Very noisy. Concert venue across street busy until after 2 am

Negatives: Conditioner was out and I didn't know it until I was half way washing my hair. Had to talk to the front desk about the credit not reflected correctly.
