Second time staying here, due to it's proximity to the theaters where we will be watching shows. Rooms are big. We have encountered some great and helpful workers such as the doorman, the valet Greg, and the Housekeeping Supervisor (can't remember if her name is Emily)
Negatives:
We got some attitude from a couple front desk staff, from checking in and attending to our room concerns.

The location was excellent the room could have been a little bigger and a microwave should be in the room or at least on each floor with an ice machine. Overall it was great and I am planning to return on a family vacation

The Renaissance is in a prime location for Times Square. It is like a haven from the hustle and bustle of the noise and craziness that is Times Square. The staff were friendly and always on hand to answer any query. Our room was on the top floor with a view of the street below-
House keeping were great and provided anything we asked for. We had the buffet breakfast on 2 days and both days were good- a selection of cereals and pastries and fruits on one side and delicious hot food on the other. Loved the small water bottles provided as well.
We had heard about the bar and what a lovely surprise to enter in and look out onto Times Square and watch the hustle and bustle in a beautiful bar. A real hidden gem!
I would recommend this hotel to anyone as location and service was amazing.

Check in was delayed a bit but staff were apologetic and offered a complimentary service.
The only downside of top floor is the noise from the roof.

location is generally good. it's basically within the time square and there's a metro access next door.
Negatives:
very noisy at night.
The payment includes many hidden charges that they will only inform you via a chat when you make the reservation. Be careful!
The staff was very rude, and I felt discriminated against. They were not only poker faces but also verbally abusive. I asked the staff where I could book the bike rental, as it's included in my room rate. He laughed and said, " What? Not possible! Nothing is free." Very bad service. They just want you to pay and leave.

Our room lacked cleanliness and comfort. I had to go to front desk more than 3 times to complain about the same issue when we checked in. Even after the director of housekeeping came to room there was still a problem. The carpet was noticeably stained and lacked vacuuming. The glasses were filthy and although we would never use them it should have been corrected and never was til I took them to the front desk. The only place to relax after a long day in the city was an old worn down chair that was so uncomfortable it felt like sitting on the window ledge. I will not stay here again and I will not recommend this hotel.
