Positives:
All the staff were polite and helpful. The receptionist, door men, luggage room man and bar man were particularly delightful. The welcome drink cocktail was well received by us too. All areas of the hotel were clean. We requested more strong coffee pods for our room, they were supplied immediately and brought to our room. We had a problem with the TV and again a service engineer appeared immediately and rectified the issue pronto. The willingness to please and service guests was notable. The location was great, a short walk from Penn Station, to Times Square and we walked to the High Line and Hudson Yards shopping mall for The Edge and Whole Foods Market.
Negatives:
The breakfast system could be better. A limited menu cooked to order, via a voucher system as opposed to a buffet breakfast. The staff were run off their feet, not their fault, more a management issue. The omelette was by far the best choice, other choices were meagre in their presentation and I'm a slight woman that doesn't overeat. I suggest offering every breakfast order a juice and extra toast, that would be a cheap solution to the problem, assuming a buffet system not workable.

Everything! From being able to do early check in to complimentary welcome drinks, to good cocktails at the bar and just excellent service. Will definitely be staying here every time I come to nyc.
