Positives:
Amazing location, friendly and helpful staff, cleanliness.
Negatives:
Very disappointing breakfast. On Monday only the fruits were served - apples, oranges, pears and one banana per person. On other weekedays there were also some mini pastries - 2 per person. I have never seen such a scarce breakfast (both in terms of type and quantity of offering). It definitely shouldn’t be anyone’s deciding factor when choosing where to stay in NY.

The only two good things of the hotel were the location of the hotel, which is near a station and some of the employees were nice.
Negatives:
The hotel was old fashioned, the room we booked was quite small and not this clean as we expected it to be. Our phone fell down and slipped a bit under the bead… and what we found under it was disgusting: old Gummi bears, a lot of dirt, hair clips as well as old ear plugs. The shower control panel was broken and loose and the air conditioner was very loud. Windows could not be opened.
The elevators came directly from hell: if you want to go up or down in the mornings you had to wait at least 15 minutes as the elevators were SO SLOW. Also the elevators got space for a maximum of 6 people… We were located at 14th floor so walking was not an option. Sometimes the elevators were occupied from the employees with their big carts and we had to wait for another few minutes…
The rooftop was just that: a rooftop. No tables, no chairs - just nothing. Also we booked the room/hotel WITH breakfast and unfortunately in the week of our stay there was no breakfast. They told us in the first morning, when we wanted to get breakfast, this week there will be no breakfast because of delivery problems… Just a few apples/bananas as well as tea and coffee were presented as beverages - if you were lucky you could get a banana, but most of the beverages were already empty. We came there at 8:30 am, we also checked at 9 am oder 9:30 am on different days, but it just didn’t get better. This was the most disappointing part at the hotel. We did not receive an information beforehand - not per Mail and not while checking in. We especially ASKED about breakfast and the employee told us where to go for breakfast - she did not mention the non existing breakfast with one single word. No one told us and the manager just said “you did not pay extra for breakfast so there is no refund” - which is quite disrespectful and far away from good service. We especially booked a hotel WITH breakfast to avoid high costs as well as extra efforts for breakfast in the morning.
