Positives:
The front desk staffperson was accommodating when our cell phone did not seem to work to call a taxi. She placed the call for us to reserve a taxi. It would have been nice to know ahead of time that the car service in town has both very expensive sedans but also affordable taxis. Be sure to request a cab if that is what you want.
Negatives:
We ate at the hotel restaurant. The food was average and took a long time but that is not my main complaint. What was not acceptable was the waiter's disposition. He was not friendly and when we finished our meal he made a point of throwing utensils onto the plate as it remained in front of me, causing a loud and offensive clatter. I have never been treated rudely like that by a waiter. That is NOT how you treat a customer--he should be re-trained to learn how to act civilly towards people to create a pleasant atmosphere. I would not want to eat there again because of the ill treatment.

Positives:
I was expecting a generic chain hotel experience, but somehow it was much much better than that. The staff were all amazing, breakfast was truly excellent. The room had light switches in good places which is rare in hotel rooms.
Negatives:
Needed kettle and mug to make tea. Bathroom had a very bright blue light on the power point that stayed on all night and lit the whole place up. I didn't have room service because I didn't need it so I left my trash outside for collection and had to actually ask housekeeping to remove it which was weird. The good way outweighed the bad though.

Delighted to be very pleasantly...
Positives:
I got a fantastic reception by a personable gentleman who congratulated me for occupying the last room for the night and said it was on the ground floor which was proximate to the swimming pool. This was a leisure visit where I prioritized swimming. My room indeed was on the ground floor, which was disappointing at first, because I like higher floors because there is a greater chance to have a good view. However, the pool was conveniently located by my room. It was a perfect lukewarm temperature, with good depth. The whirlpool was quality in temperature and gusto as well. Although the only portal toilettry was face soap, it and the non-portal shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel were impressive quality. The shower was decent, but could have had a better showerhead to allow more settings for a quality experience. I was disappointed there was no tub. The room layout was aesthetically pleasing, as were the furnishings. I loved the lighting fixtures! The thermostat was easy to control. The black out curtains were a nice touch. I was pleased by the presence of a microwave, Keurig and mini-fridge.
Negatives:
I was disappointed by being on the ground floor because I associate higher floors with better views. My view on the ground floor was the parking lot. Thankfully, the property is stunning so it was not so bad. I appreciated the aesthetics throughout the property to include the common areas, i.e., terrace, bar/restaurant, bathrooms, lobby, pool, etc. Unfortunately, upon entering my room, I was hit harshly in my face by a horrible stench that could only be described as mildewly, smokey, and dog. Perhaps the room was not aired out and the location on the ground floor may have been a contributing factor. I found the odor highly offensive and embarrassing. It was even more apparent the next day when I was doing yoga on the carpet. The property is pet friendly so I am certain that is why I smelled dog. I love animals and there are quite a few fur babies in the family, so this is no reflection of a negative attitude toward pets. I had challenges connecting to Wi-fi and after multiple failed attempts reached out to the concierge. A lady came and assisted me. We figured my phones do not disturb setting may have been a barrier. I was grateful for her assistance. Before she left I pointed out what appeared to be brown stains I prayed werent fecal matter, and also showed her the broken off wood piece under the sliding wood door handle of the bathroom. She exclaimed that they knew I didnt do that. While I appreciated that I would not be held responsible, I was horrified by the fact that they must have had prior knowledge of these conditions and still saw it fit to house a patron. I again gave this feedback to the concierge when I checked out and I was offered a free snack, which I declined. I left a tip for house keeping because I did not want to penalize the wrong party for these issues. The concierge said shed raise my concerns to management but I have not heard back and its 4 days later. I am skeptical about her claim.
