Every time I used shower it leaked all over the bathroom floor. Was told it was due to one of the shower curtains being out of the shower. Not true both curtains were in and the shower still leaked all over the floor. Also the shower curtains was left out by the staff. Was asked for every other day cleaning service. But the service was banging on my door at 9am when ask not to be woken that day. I also did not like the smell in the room. There was no information in the room. Nothing about the area. What the hotel offered. There was no tv guide to reference. The remote did nothing but on and off and volume . All other functions did not work on the remote. No guide no room service to order. No showing what is being billed to room. There were no benefits to this stay.
I have stated at the Hampton Inn many times in last some years . Never had any complaints at any of my stays. I will go back to the Hampton Inn again next time I will come. Sorry but how I feel. I came for a family member passing away. My mother - in -law died at 96 years of age. I did not want to deal with any of these problems then.

Positives:
Parking, over all cleanliness and orderliness of the hotel and very courteous of staff was a big plus. Bathroom and available hot water were fantastic.
Negatives:
I did not like walking though a cloud of marijuana smoke with my kids when walking into the main entrance. Welcome to modern America I guess.
The A/C unit in the room was malfunctioning. Mentioned this twice at the front desk, and though technicians visited the room twice - the issue was not adequately dealt with or repaired.

Positives:
The staff is very friendly and helpful.. Comfortable beds. Bus stop is a 5 minute walk from the hotel and it is free in July and August and stops at the ferry terminal. Breakfast was included.
Negatives:
Far from the ferry ( 30 minutes drive/ 40 minutes by bus). No shops / restaurants around the area. Not very clean. Some shelves of the dresser had dust. Also, we dropped powder on the floor and asked to clean the room but only beds were made, no vacuuming.

The bed was remarkably comfortable. Not sure what kind of mattress and sheets they use, but it was one of the best beds I have ever slept in.
Negatives:
It was certainly overpriced, given the amenities. But it IS Staten Island and is better than other facilities when there are so few to agree.
