Hyatt Place Charlotte Airport/Billy Graham Parkway

Negatives: Staff was not welcoming or friendly. Property was dirty. Parking lot was dirty, trash pilled on top of trash outside the building. The area didn’t feel safe in the evenings. When we arrived later in the evening we saw a truck in the back parking with a broken passenger side window. Looks like someone broke into the truck. Glass was everywhere. Made me very nervous. The door to the back entrance wasn’t locked. Anyone could walk in without a key. Couldn’t sleep all night because I was concerned my car would get broken into also. Told the night auditor and his response was “yeah, yeah. I know! Can’t do nothing about it”, which made me even more nervous because he was not concerned at all. I woke up at 8AM and saw the owners of the truck freaking out because their window was shattered. When we left at noon there was still glass all over the ground. No one came to clean it up, even after 4 hrs had passed. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, especially families with little kids or females traveling alone. If u do have to stay, park by the front entrance and don’t leave after dark.

Negatives: The front desk people seemed to be in their own world. I came down to ask about charges on my account and was told by 1 of the 2 people that she was in the middle of something else (a problem with another guest) and could she call me. I said that would be fine and never got a call. The 2nd desk person never even offered to help. On the way out for the night, I said something about not ever getting called and was told they had forgotten but I could come back before 11pm and she would help. We were going to a concert and knew we wouldn't be back by then. In the morning, they're was a young lady working the desk and I went to talk with her and she was able to see what the issue was and explain things. However, I had to say 'excuse me' to get her attention- she was on her cell phone. The front desk staff needs to understand that with the desk set up the way it is, they need to be more aware and receptive to guests coming in.

Negatives: Mediocre facilities at best and then you have to pay to park because they don’t own the parking lot. Every pickup truck parked there was broken into. Hotel staff doesn’t care, no cameras or security there. Happens everytime there is a big event in the city. Pay the extra $$ for monitored parking. It’s cheaper than replacing windows and everything in the vehicle.

Negatives: We didn't know we had to call for the airport shuttle to bring us to the hotel. It was clear that we had to reserve it when leaving the hotel, but we assumed the shuttle circled around for airport pick-up. We ended up waiting a long time at the loud and smelly curb area before we thought to call.

Negatives: Still haven’t received the final invoice via e-mail. In consequence, there‘s still a $50 hold on my card
