Best Western Plus Westgate Inn & Suites

Negatives: We travel quite frequently staying in hotels over 100 times a year and have never experienced such an unwelcoming arrival to a hotel. We arrived to the hotel early (around 11AM) and asked if it would be possible to check into a room early if one was available. They told us that they had a room available but it would cost us an additional $50.00. This is the first time I have ever heard an answer like this and as I’ve mentioned, we travel a great deal. They told us check in was not until 3PM but that she would get us into a room at 1PM and waive the fee. We told the hotel we would return at 1PM. I would have preferred the hotel lie to us and tell us they had no rooms available then to try to get an extra $50.00’s out of a customer. After all, we were staying for three nights. (It really wasn’t the extra dollar amount that bothered us as much as the unwelcoming reception we received. We got back to the hotel around 12:40PM and saw a woman in the lobby getting immediately checked into a room without an additional fee. The same hotel front desk hostess saw our observation and called for us to check into the room. Upon checking in, we asked if the lobby bar would be open later that day. She replied, “It should be”. I said to my friend, “That doesn’t sound likely”. It was a Saturday and the bar never opened. In fact, to our dismay, it did not open Saturday, Sunday or Monday evenings. Our weather was sunny and nice. It warmed up to 68-71 degrees. During our stay, we noticed a beautifully maintained pool and hot tub off the lobby. Although too cool to swim in the pool, we thought it would be nice to sit in a couple chaise lounges to soak in some sun. No such luck, we were told the pool “area” cannot be accessed after October 31st and before April 1st. Another disappointment. The breakfast crew were fantastic. They were friendly, welcoming and served a delicious breakfast each day.

Negatives: Everything

Negatives: Disappointed that it was only open for breakfast, and not lunch &/or dinner. Bar area had no food food available at all. No toothpaste in bathrooms...not a fan of brands used - some people are sensitive to smell. Scent-free cwould be better. Elevators slow. PRICES VERY HIGH FOR LOCATION (FAR FROM AIRPORT-SHOULD HAVE SOME CAR/SHUTTLE SERVICE).

Negatives: N/A. Truly. No complaints. I will be back in January 2025.

Negatives: The toilet seat was loose and wobbly which could have been a detriment to our safety. We had to be very careful to keep from sliding off sideways. I reported it to the front desk when checking out. Housekeeping staff should have noticed this issue and reported it for replacement or repair.

Negatives: Did not have maid service daily. It was easy to get new towels.

Negatives: I didn't like that people with dogs are placed on the first floor. All the rooms for people with dogs are located together, and it feels like you are living in a room that is like a closet with a certain smell inside the room. The bed linen didn't look clean and the bed was pressed down, it was not pleasant to sleep. The bathroom looks worn and old. I understand that it is the hotel's policy to avoid the smells of other rooms for people who do not travel with dogs, but it still left an unpleasant aftertaste of staying on the first floor in strange conditions.

Negatives: I think an indoor pool would be nice to have because the outdoor one gets crowded quickly.
