Friendly helpful staff in all departments, clean and welcoming. Quiet at night in hallways. Typical continental breakfast.
Negatives:
One vending machine. I had to walk a ways to find ice machine, it was out of order, the other one had been removed. The fridge freezer compartment was frosted up, turned it down to one, everything kept freezing. My section did not have an elevator

The location was great for our visit, and in general very accessible to I-40, and several venues, ie: The Arena, NC Museum of the Arts, the Fairgrounds, etc. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the common areas and our room were very clean. The decor and furnishings were more than a bit dated, but in general well maintained. Our bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was very clean! The area seems to be very safe, and we had no concerns over safety in any way.
Negatives:
The parking area and grounds could definitely use some attention! It's obvious this property used to be maintained at a higher level, and it wouldn't take much to restore it, Nice mature landscaping, and a very attractive inner courtyard/pool area, but weeds, no mulch, etc. really detracts from the appearance. The free breakfast was pretty good, and very well stocked, but one particularly loud staff member, while very friendly, never stopped talking, which was very distracting.
