Residence Inn by Marriott Cleveland Downtown

Negatives: Check in time was at 4 i got there at 420 & was put on a list because the rooms were still being cleaned. Didn't get to check in until alil after 7. They said they would call but I had to call them.

Negatives: The entire experience. I didn't get the room I reserved. The room smelt like dog urine. I asked to get moved to a room with no carpet but was told all rooms had carpet and no other rooms were available. I was also told that if I leave half of my money would still be taken, which forced me to stay. My room didn't have an outside window view. It was a view looking inside at shops. Getting to the room was extremely difficult, on the 3rd floor, but it was on a 2nd floor level. There's no free hotel parking. Parking was 42 US dollars. Which is insane! Where should I park my vehicle if I stay at a hotel? Parking should be free! The first time I've ever been disappointed in Marriott! The picture I provided was me looking out of my hotel room window.

Negatives: Never received the coffee pot we requested. Needs updated and the room could use some paint….all doors in the room.

Negatives: Our room was a considerable walk away from the lobby, literally in a different building. 2 separate elevators needed. The lady at the front desk had an attitude that was far from professional for a service industry. I’ve supervised, managed and directed employees for 30+ years, and would have terminated this persons employment on the spot.

Negatives: The staff told us we would receive free parking but it was untrue. There was no free parking at the hotel and we were sold the valet parking. We find the communication deceitful and misleading.

Negatives: Terrible service. When checking in, the receptionist did not answer our questions about the bill, did not give us a room with the beds we requested and yelled at us. The receptionist's name is Jaelyn. It's horrible to go to a Marriott with that kind of service.

Negatives: Bathroom was very small, sink was outside bathroom, creaking floors, sofa in room was very uncomfortable to sit on.

Negatives: The bathroom shower area could have been a bit cleaner. There was some pink and brown scum in the door frame of the shower and under the shelf in the shower area.

Negatives: You charge $100 for “incidentals” without describing what those “incidentals” are?? That’s absolutely horrible and in my mind is worthy of my reporting you to the better business bureau and to the state attorney general….and who knows, I might very well post this practice of yours on my multiple social media accounts! Unbelievable that you would do this!!

Negatives: It’s old; needs refurbishing.

Negatives: Some stuff in the room could be upgraded.
