Only the location was good.
Negatives:
The whole hotel stinks. The carpet looked old and not cleaned at all. Even the elevators were stinking. The rooms were awful for the price we paid. The room carpets were even more disappointingly dirty. Bathroom didn't have proper ventilation. I wouldn't pay even $50 per night for this hotel. And I cannot believe Marriott has fallen down to this level.

Positives:
The location in northern downtown Portland is very good. It is very near Powell's Bookstore, Old Town, Pearl District, etc. Right next door is also a Food Truck Court, nice place to have some food or a beer. The room was clean and big and the cleaning staff were very friendly and efficient! It is a chain, so nothing "out of the ordinary," but the hotel seems to be very well managed/run and the price was very good in comparison to other places in Portland.
Negatives:
The front desk staff were not as friendly as the cleaning staff, but we were maybe just surprised since almost everyone we encountered during our stay in Portland were sooo nice. The cost of parking thru the hotel is quite high - we parked on the street or in one of the city garages that is not so far away from the hotel.
