This hotel is a unique property with fun/ quirky wall paper/ murals in the rooms and lobby area. The rooms are a bit spartan, but I liked that. Large windows brought plenty of light into the room, the fitness room was small but adequate, and conveniently, there is a there is a Starbucks attached to the hotel. The location made for easy walking around the downtown area. I’d definitely stay here again.

The rooms were sweet. We knew we would be spending most of our time in the room so we wanted some space. Room was very open and nice. The staff were super cool, the room was clean, the rest of the hotel was also super clean. We liked that once you get your keycard that’s what you need to get around and it prevented a lot of unnecessary foot traffic. Andrew at the front desk was cool as heck.
Negatives:
The showers were fine for us, it didn’t bother us at all, it’s only a half door and it gets water everywhere but it was whatever, they gave us extra towel, I wouldn’t stay at this hotel I don’t think if I needed a lot of “get ready room” the mirrors aren’t super easy to use and there’s no fan in the bathroom so anytime someone showered it makes the room very humid.
Also, the complete lack of signage in the front lobby is pretty bad. The check in “counter” is not a counter and looks like a hostess booth for the restaurant. And when the elevator doors open every single floor looks exactly the same and there is stairs but they aren’t marked at all and are hard to use.

The staff was super friendly and understanding of my complaints about the type of room designs chosen for this awesome location. The motorcycle parking was also awesome to get in and out of.
Negatives:
The room designs are so bad that I would suggest they rename the hotel from "Hotel Vance" to "Vance Dormitories." Or, i'd even go so far as to call it, "Vance County Jail," for those of you that have done a night or two in county jail.
