Restaurant closed! No where near we could find breakfast except for Starbucks.

Have a Continental breakfast to offer at least. Juices, bagels, etc. Not just coffee and tea.
Also, toliet does not flush. Called front desk, says it may be a City issue for water pressure. Or Hotel, they say.

The room was nice. People...
Positives:
I knew from the pictures that it was a bit out there and wasn’t sure how my husband would feel about the decor. He really liked it. It was neat and gave it some unique style. The room is big, the shower was the hottest I’ve ever had at a hotel (which is a great thing after a long travel day). We slept well!
The location was good. Yes, there are a lot of homeless around but we live near Toronto, ON so this is no huge shock for me to see. I didn’t feel unsafe at any point during our trip.
The staff was very pleasant. We happened to arrive during a parade time when the streets were closed (I didn’t know this when I booked it) and when I called to see how to get there, the staff was friendly, apologetic, and gave helpful info for us to get there through all the traffic.
Negatives:
There wasn’t anything in particular I didn’t like - not too many amenities in the place. The hallways had a bit of a weird smell but nothing overwhelming.

The quirky decor and heritage elements are great.
Negatives:
Staff were not helpful. For example, we didn't know there was a parade and all the roads would be shut down for 10 hours. We heard about it on the news and asked staff how to get in and out of the area but they weren't able to provide clear information. We ended up changing our plans and staying in the area of the hotel instead of going obn the tour we had booked. There is no coffee service in room. It is supposed to be in the "Living Room" but it wasn;t available there either. Staff did not offer a solution other than saying it must have been cleared away early.

Missed fun things from when it was a Hotel Monaco - chaises, wine, nightcaps, piano player in the living room. One of the bedside lamps was missing the knob so wouldn?t turn on or off and woodwork needed touch up. Didn?t quite feel like 4.5 star.
