Motel 6-Newport RI

Negatives: The entire building smells like an ash tray and is being used as one. Absolutely unsafe for my medically fragile children to stay here since it has interior hallways and they are all filled with cigarette and weed smoke. They put our two needed rooms in exact opposite corners of the hotel. When we told the employee at the front desk that we were having a hard time and tried to figure out a solution with her she became hostile and even ruder than she was in the first place. Then she pointed to a sign that said they would not refund any rooms more than 15 minutes after check in and refused to refund our money even though I had been standing there talking to her for almost all of that time. I have stayed in at least 25 different hotels in the last year or so and NONE of them have been like this. When we finally left and found a different hotel for the safety of my kids, the hotel we wound up at told us that I was not the first person to show up really upset after leaving the motel 6.

Negatives: It was very dirty. The floor in the room was sticky. There was cockroaches running around and it smelled.

Negatives: So like I get it, you get what you pay for. This was the only place not booked or totally unreasonably priced in Newport on short notice. But this place was absolute trash. The whole place is dirty, from the lobby to the room. There was a cockroach in the mini fridge, the whole entire hotel smelled like old bong water, the bed was so hold it was folding into the center and the tv didn’t even turn on. There’s just zero pride in that motel.

Negatives: New carpet on hallway is a start. Too much weed smell permeates the building.

Negatives: Place was not very clean

Negatives: It reeked of mold and mildew, the mattresses were filthy, staff member was rude to my son. When we checked in we were given one key. He had to knock to get in at the front door and was spoken to rudely about using other keys (which we were over given). It looks like you’re checking into a very dangerous situation with the security lockdown at the front door. Our room door barely shut curtain was hanging off of the rod and everything was damp. When we returned home needed to wash absolutely everything we brought with us because it stunk like the hotel. The carpet in the hallways were filthy. Hands down the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

Negatives: Room smelled terribly of smoke (despite clearly being a non-smoking room) There were some hairs on the bed upon arrival I guess, what you pay is what you get…

Negatives: 1. I saw a roach 2.the staff don’t know how to makeup their minds 3 no pool 4. Thin walls heard a lot of fighting and moaning
