About This Property
This Charleston French Quarter art-focused hotel includes 2 hotels—19 Vendue and 26 Vendue—dating from 1780 and features rotating art exhibits and tours. Waterfront Park, Market Street, and Charleston City Market are less than 5 minutes' walk away. Complimentary morning coffee and pastries are provided and drinks can be enjoyed on-site at The Rooftop cocktail bar. Our restaurant, Revival focuses on recipes and/or ingredients from South Carolina’s past. Extras include a daily art reception with wine. A 200-piece rotating art exhibition is on-site at 19 Venue and additional art installations can be enjoyed at 26 Vendue. A free bike hire, indoor and outdoor event space, and art programs are offered as well. Free milk and cookies are included in every nightly turn-down service at The Vendue, Downtown Art Hotel. Every room features a cable TV and an private bathroom. The King Street shopping district is 1969 ft from the hotel, while Charleston International Airport is 13 mi away. The hotel was a very cool and eclectic hotel, in a prime location. The staff were also wonderful and very helpful. It was right in the heart of oldtown, close to the shoreline, and within walking distance of most everything.
Negatives:
The pictures of the rooms are not always the room you get assigned, I had to push to get the room that was shown in the picture. (there are not many of the ones with brick walls that they picture)

Positives:
Free bicycles to borrow. Great location, walkable and bikable to many attractions. Non-chain boutique hotel vibe. Glass of champagne at check-in. Unlimited chilled water bottles in the hallway! Great coffee station in the a.m.
Negatives:
Main lobby has strong smells like cheap air freshener. The staff acted surprised when they didn't have my name at check-in (I booked just an hour earlier on Booking.com). They give you a goodie bag for breakfast each morning (muffin, croissant, fruit, jam), but that is too much sugary carb stuff for my taste.

Accommodating staff, very helpful and friendly. Complimentary champagne on arrival. Pastries in lobby. Water in refrigerators in hallway. Breakfast was brought to room and left on the door. Wonderful experience.
