Negatives: Bathroom hooks were missing, breakfast was 6-9, but when we arrived at 8:40, eggs and sausages were gone and we had to ask for more. Also coffee had run out. We had to wait for everything to be replenished, which it eventually was.

Negatives: We faced a serious issue using our Turkish cards upon arriving in the United States. While we were able to book a hotel, we quickly realized that our cards were not accepted for payment anywhere. We immediately contacted the hotel and asked if we could pay in cash. However, the hotel informed us that they do not accept cash payments. We explained our situation, clarifying that we couldn’t use our cards because it was nighttime in Turkey, and we would only be able to contact our bank the next day. We requested that the hotel cancel our booking without applying a penalty. The hotel manager listened to us and promised not to impose any penalties if we could get in touch with Booking.com and have a representative send a written request to the hotel. We followed these instructions and reached out to a Booking.com agent, who kindly listened to us and sent an explanatory letter to La Quinta hotel, requesting that no penalties be applied. However, despite their promise, the hotel manager and La Quinta charged us a penalty 93 usd, even though they assured us over the phone that no such charges would be applied if Booking.com sent the request. This was a deeply disappointing experience. How could they act this way—first making a promise, setting conditions, and then breaking their word after we fulfilled those conditions? The behavior of the hotel manager and the establishment reflects very low ethical standards. Their failure to honor their promise demonstrates deceitful practices. This is very poor conduct and a clear act of dishonesty on the part of the hotel. It is shameful to treat people this way in their difficult moment and to break a promise.
