Location is prime for downtown venue convenience. Room was comfortable and small kitchenette would have been used to our convenience had we stayed more than 2 days. We flew in, but parking right across the street ( meter parking).

This hotel called me as I was boarding the plane to Houston to tell me that I was getting booted off my reservation because they were clearing the hotel for a hurricane. They gave me 2 options: rebook me somewhere "of equal value" or refund me. Since I was literally boarding the plane, I had no time to research my own room, so I asked them to rebook me. Instead of booking me at a place "of equal value," they kept a couple hundred dollars of profit for themselves and downgraded me to a roadside motel next to the interstate. Furthermore, when I tried to collect the difference, Booking.com refused all my efforts. Avoid this one at all costs, it's a scam.

Staying at the Athens Hotel in Houston, Texas was a delightful experience. The location is fantastic, close to key attractions and vibrant downtown areas. The rooms were spacious, impeccably clean, and well-appointed with all necessary amenities. The breakfast was a treat, featuring a variety of delicious options, both continental and local. What truly stood out was the incredibly friendly and kind staff who made us feel right at home. Their warm hospitality and helpfulness added a personal touch to our stay. The location being close to the house of blues and basketball park.
Negatives:
A friend brought marijuana into the room. They were accused of smoking it even tho they didn't because of the smell and no smoke the attendants black female and Asian male forced us to pay or be put out. The police were called with a false report they came found no sign of smoke but did smell the marijuana. Police asked the attendant to return our money and they did not. This was the most unfriendly place I have ever been.
