OYO Hotel McAllen Airport South - 1 mi from McAllen Medical Center

Negatives: When I first arrived at the hotel the room smelled nasty like mildew and then the bathroom shower doesn’t even get hot it’s like a mix between hot and cold and the floors had my feet black not worth it!.

Negatives: Not so comfortable.

Negatives: Staff was rude, rooms were substandard and area was sketchy

Negatives: What I paid for and what I got are two different things. I was supposed to get a suite one room with king size bed that had a room connected to it with a queen and king size bed. Three beds total. When we arrived we got two room with a queen and a king bed. The pictures from booking .com are not correct they do not look like that. And when I told the hotel employee he stated that that is booking . Com because they are a third party they did not have what I paid for and if I wanted an extra room or bed because I paid for 3 beds I would have to pay for another room.

Negatives: Toe room was a little bit smelly. But everything was good

Negatives: The a/c didn’t feel like it was working properly taking entirely too long to cool a VERY small room. The heat was not excessive outside to explain the lack of cooling. When attempting to call the front desk to ask if someone could check it out, we found the phone was not even connected and no plug in was available to attempt to connect it. The one we did find close enough didn’t even work. The bed was also very hard and springy. I honestly feel like the other ratings exaggerated because we felt as if the hotel did not live up to the standards expected based off of other reviews.

Negatives: Everything was fine

Negatives: I had already explained that my check in would be at about midnight due to my flight, but during the evening when I was waiting for my flight I got a notification that my credit card had been debited and I got an email to say that I had cancelled my booking, but I hadn’t and I was still dependent on staying in the room. I replied to the email and said I was still needing the room and I hadn’t cancelled it. I got no reply, so still went to the hotel when my plane had landed after midnight to be told that my room had been cancelled and I would have to pay for another one. Since it was the middle of the night, I didn’t have much choice, I paid, but I was reassured by the young lady in reception that I would get a refund for my first booking when they explained what had happened. The sheets in my room were stained but I was so tired and fed up I didn’t have the energy to do anything about it. I explained what had happened to Booking.com, expecting to get a refund, but the hotel said I was a “no show” and therefore I haven’t got any money back. Very disappointed by the hotel and definitely won’t be staying there again
