After Wednesday, Sep 18th, 2024 at midnight local hotel time (in Chicago), you are not allowed to change or cancel your reservation. If you cancel your reservation after Sep 18, you will still be charged for the full amount.

Positives: Gorgeous historic hotel, right in the middle of San Antonio. We could see the Alamo from our window, and the river walk was a very short walk away. The historic features have been beautifully preserved - the Victorian lobby is particularly stunning. The bed was comfortable, the pool was lovely and the young woman serving poolside drinks was so friendly and efficient.

Negatives: Not the fault of the property, but I didn’t realise when I booked that there is a HUGE building project going on in the area surrounding the Alamo (and therefore right next to the hotel). Just something to be aware of! Bring your earplugs! There are the usual small niggles you’d expect to find in a very old building - no double glazing, noisy air conditioning, water came through rusty when the taps were first turned on. All this aside, it’s a gorgeous place and I would thoroughly recommend it.

Positives: Historical Hotel. The lobby is full of wanders the holds tons of historical value. The rooms were old, of course.. but clean and fully functional. Well maintained. Really good experience. The breakfast dinning room is amazing. Really beautiful place. Like a palace. Stuff is very polite and attentive.

Negatives: Valet parking was expensive and car was taken to an open lot that wasn’t secured (I have a tracking device on the car so I was able to see where it was taken. In the morning at 5 am when we were waiting to pick up the car, there were a few homeless begging for money which made packing up the car uncomfortable-staff called the police but it was still a bit unsettling. Rooms are dated, A/C didn’t work well (didn’t get below 75) and there were hardly any lights in the room. For the price, it wasn’t worth it
