My family and I usually stay at the Menger because of the pricing, the friendliness of the staff, & location.
Negatives:
My room was in the historic part of the Hotel which I love; however there was a leak in the ceiling and I was moved. I was moved to the renovated part of the Hotel and was not happy because it was way too small, & I almost knocked the TV over a couple times because it was way too close to the closet. Also, I always check my mileage when I valet; my car mileage had 20 extra miles on it when we left, and we walked everywhere, and did not use our car once.

Location. 1 minute to the Alamo. 1 minute to the River Center Mall. 4 minutes to the river walk. Less than a mile from the Market Plaza. We walked everywhere.
Negatives:
Probably the view from the room. Roof, walls and sky. But we were only in the room at night to sleep and it was very comfortable.

Walking distance to restaurants, the mall, river walk, and other attractions. It smelled really good throughout the facility and the room was clean. I liked the antique style.
Negatives:
It’s not the property’s fault, but the construction outside the property was loud/disruptive. The door was pretty loud when opening/closing, not a nuance for me personally but being mindful of neighbors.
