Great location and a wonderful old hotel but it is very tired.

The room was very old and worn out. Dirty with worn out materials every where. Torn carpets, stained bed spread, loose and leaky plumbing fixtures.

The bartender was great and made a great espresso martini. The location was great close to the Riverwalk.
Negatives:
First room I was given had to flooded bathroom and the second room didn’t have any windows… Well, they were there, but they were covered up by a film you couldn’t see through and you couldn’t open them. Felt like you could open if you really wanted to didn’t feel safe… The room was very large, but very outdated and the carpet definitely needed to be replaced soon. The bed was not comfortable and overall the room just smelled old

Positives:
The historical beauty of the hotel The chandeliers were mesmerizing! Room service meals were tasty and much appreciated after a day of sightseeing the river walk and Alamo located nearby.
Negatives:
The bed felt hard as a concrete slab making it difficult to rest
The lounge always seemed depleted of bottled water and any sugar free drinks.
