Free Breakfast was good! Parking was $34.00 a night, lot down the street charged $7.00 a day for parking. Our room was next to tracks for the metro, worst room in the hotel. Checked with front desk and was moved to another room on the other side of the hotel from the train tracks, much appreciated.
Negatives:
Double charged for the room!!! Pre-Paid for room with Booking.com $776.39 for 3 nights. Residence Inn required a CC at check-in for incidentals. Found additional charge on CC for another $668.00 up-on my return home. Have contacted hotel and was told a manager would return my call. Still waiting for the call... Not a Happy Customer!!!

Double Charged for the room,...
Positives:
The location is very convenient to Amtrak and two metro stations. There are two nearby grocery stores - Wegmans and Whole Foods. The location is in a generally quieter part of Alexandria, so there isn’t the same noise level of busier street/night life. Like most Residence Inn properties, the room is very comfortable, spacious, with in-room amenities that are great for 3+ nights. The fitness center not only has the typical treadmills and elliptical machines, but it also had a barbell and various weights for squatting and bench press options.
Negatives:
Strangely, the room doors slam so loudly that there’s no need for an alarm clock. I was startled several times throughout the late night/early morning from other guests entering and leaving their rooms that I wished I had some ear plugs. Additionally, for my room, the closet was poorly designed. The way the clothes’ hanging bar was affixed in the closet was poorly set, so the closet door could not close. Additionally, the room’s safe, iron, and ironing board were in the closet, so over half of the closet space was not usable. Luckily, there’s plenty of room in the dresser.

Location was very convenient to the metro and had shuttle service to the metro if you didn’t want to walk 3 blocks. The shuttle drivers were helpful and friendly. The price was better than most any other location. The rooms were spacious and well designed.
