The room was dirty and run down. Worn and dirty drapery, dirty and stained upholstery on the sofa. The furniture was old and marred. One drawer had a handle which was unattached at one end. My room was at the end of a walkway at the back of the building. I felt isolated, vulnerable, and very uncomfortable walking alone to my room, even in daylight.
