Positives:
The hotel was very nice as far as facilities etc, and the room was spacious. The bed, linens, and robes were quite comfortable.
Negatives:
There were numerous things:
- we reserved and paid for a king room but there were no king rooms when we arrived. I know this happens but there was no apology or anything from the front desk.
- right outside our window was the alley in front of the car park, and overnight there were numerous trash trucks that woke us up, even though we were on the fourth floor.
- the in-room alarm was apparently already set for 6 am so it went off and woke us up. This was especially unwelcome after being woken up throughout the night by the trash trucks.
- the ice machine was a few bags of ice that were frozen to the bottom of the ice box, so we weren’t able to actually get any ice without an ice pick.
- this is the worst part - I went to take a shower and there was hair on the wall of the shower. Long thin dark hair that couldn’t have belonged to my partner or I. It was gross.
I’ve stayed at Hilton hotels many times and this was the worst by far. I’m not a hotel snob either. It doesn’t need to be 5 star as long as it’s clean and the staff is friendly. This was neither.
