Quality Inn & Suites Kearneysville - Martinsburg

Negatives: Bed sheets dirty. Too much exterior noise. I booked a room with my dogs on 1st . We were put on the second floor and had to go up and down stairs to take them out. I talked to the front desk person about why we were on the second floor and she said there were no rooms available. Next morning at checkout, a different front desk person checked and there had been rooms on the 1st floor available for us. No elevator to the second floor. I'm disabled and have trouble getting up steps.

Negatives: There was no elevator and we had to lug heavy suitcases up stairs that had the step edges coming off. The room was filthy with dirt and hairs in the bathroom floor corners, towels rods missing with the base ends sticking out, slick bottom tubs, dirty shower curtains, filthy carpets. Loud cursing and screaming in the room next to us until 3:30 AM. When my husband asked them to do something, the desk clerk could barely speak English and only offered a new room for us. When we realized they weren't going to do anything about the noise, we accepted the new room. Gathering all of our things at 3:30 AM, we went to the new room and it smelled so badly with a gas smell that we went back into the hall. The desk clerk merely offered us a spray bottle of air freshener!! We demanded another room. By that time, we were desperately exhausted. The new room was also dirty. The next morning we awakened to more cursing and screaming and the police were there talking to the manager. We could not stay another night as originally planned! The manager told the desk clerk to give us a refund but he didn't know how, so she had to do it. She told me the place is owned by some people from India and their family are the employees. We expected a higher level of comfort and cleanliness of a Quality Inn, but these people have turned this place into a dump. We chose this hotel because it was close to Antietam where we planned to visit. We ended up just driving back home exhausted and angry.

Negatives: Had to move rooms due to extremely noisy neighbour. Next room offered smelled so strongly of cologne we couldn't do it. Third room was ok. In the middle of the night we were awoken by neighbour blaring TV and couldn't sleep for hours. Found small cockroach in bathroom, otherwise it seemed clean. Room was very dim. Only lamps for light was inadequate. Beds were not comfortable.

Negatives: The room smelled absolutely disgusting like burnt mold or something. The carpet was soo dirty. My socks were black after a half hr of walking in my room. Had to wear my shoes. There were no decent breakfast options other than the 1 waffle maker everyone was in line for because they would never refill it.

Negatives: dirty towels, Clogged toilet when I arrived (clean) that I have to unclog myself because there is not Maintenance on weekends

Negatives: No Elevator No working phone in the room Electrical sockets did not work No towels or washcloths Trash was not picked up Dirty towels were not picked up We were out of the room from 10 AM until 10:40 PM And even after filling out their cord about what we wanted done while we were gone, nothing was done The room was stinking when we got back in there

Negatives: There was a problem with my credit card, so the Desk Representative on duty that evening called me to tell me about it. When she said she ran my card and it was declined, I thought it was a scam because I was to pay at the property. She further made the situation even difficult by saying "no" we need you to pay before you come in, even though, clearing on booking.com it states pay at the property, but she wasn't even giving me a chance to think and respond, she said, so I will just cancel your reservation. I was 10 minutes away and just wanted to get to the hotel, she did not give me any chance to respond to say I would be there in a few minutes and take care of it, she wanted me to do it while I was driving. She just kept asking me for a credit card or I would have to cancel, even though I stated I would be there in now, 5 minutes. It was very unsettling. I have chosen this hotel because it is close to where I work, but I would rather drive extra then to be treated that way.
