Good variety at breakfast. Clean room. Good toiletries provided. Filtered water station by ice machine. The staff was friendly and accommodating.

The mattress was not nearly as comfortable as I would expect for the price paid. A much cheaper hotel that we normally stay at in Monona has much better mattresses, linens and pillows. Only two pillows per person on a king. I probably could have requested more but didn't want to leave the room again.. Parking was an extra charge, on top of the room price. They also charged my card an extra $30 for "incidentals" that I won't get refunded back for days or possibly weeks. When there is no mini bar and everything on the TV that isn't antenna TV requires you to log in or sign up, I think this is just an unnecessary way to make sure you're not stealing the towels. It's insulting. You have my card number. If I break something or steal, you can charge my card later. Just another way hotels borrow money from you to make money without your consent. And meanwhile, I am paying credit card interest on that. I don't care if it's standard practice for hotels to do this. It's wrong and unethical. Again, the hotel in Monona (Mainstay Inn & Suites) doesn't do this. I booked the hotel because it was walking distance from my kid's dorm. But just a block or so down on the same side, of the street, I would not be comfortable walking alone (in a city with a relatively low crime rate) so I would not stay here again.
