Positives:
It was quiet, the room was big, the bed was comfy.
Negatives:
The lighting in the bathroom was dim. There were no Kleenex. On one side of the building, the Handicap parking spot was level, but on the other side of the building, it was slanted, making it difficult to unload the car and manage the luggage cart to keep it from rolling away. The check-in process was difficult because there was only one person doing it and that person also drove a shuttle van for railroad crews. There was no lobby to wait in, so you had to wait in your car and then walk back to the diner to see if that person was back. Or call the hotel number, and Ieave a message requesting a call when that person returned. Since I arrived later than I expected, it was starting to get dark, so I chose to leave voice mails, only to find out after 45 minutes that either the new phone system wasn't working or that person's phone wasn't working. It made for a long day.

That was the problem. It appears rough, but turned out ok, nothing special by any means. Sink area with a microwave is a little tight. Must admit , lots of channels. Should offer breakfast, especially when a on site restaurant is involved. For the same price breakfast is normally offered. Could offer 3 things off the menu.

Registering at the diner! No menu at the diner. No coffee pot in rooms .

It was the best value in the area for something slightly nicer than a motel. Good enough for a one night stopover on a road trip.

Sounds like theyre experiencing some major staffing issues. The diner in front, which is part of the hotel apparently, was advertised as being open 24 hours. It was not open from the time we arrived at 7pm until we left at 9am the next morning. The staff member working at the diner said they only had one cook and she was quitting next week, so Im not sure what they are going to do. Dont go expecting the diner to be open.
Other than that, the beds were pretty uncomfortable.

Fine for a stop over, but staffing issues are big concern

Everything. Great property that is well-maintained and has a fabulous staff! On our 9-day road trip, this was the ONE hotel that read our special request for lightweight blankets and made up the beds so we didnt have to unmake them to accommodate! Twila, the manager, was incredibly kind and helpful, and I only wish other hotels in this chain (and others) would pay attention to their guests the way she did with us! A hotel is only as good as its employees, and shes fabulous!! Made our entire trip!!
