Clean Pups Without the Mess

By Katie Ceraulo | Dogs get dirty when they’re traveling! Bathing your pooch during a road trip can be a hassle. There is a fairly new option for pet travelers that makes bathing dogs on the road a breeze. Self-service dog washes provide everything you need to bathe your dog, and they even clean up the mess! It’s an affordable option and all you need to bring with you is your dog – it’s that easy.

Clean Pups Without the MessField Trip to Self-Service Dog Wash

To find out more about self-service dog grooming, I went to Cookies-N-Clean in Phoenix, AZ to see for myself what it’s all about. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by a friendly employee and an adorable Labrador Retriever. The shop was bright, colorful and filled with dog treats, toys and accessories. I sat down with the manager Skyler Villanueva to find out about how travelers benefit from this service.

It’s quick, easy and is becoming increasingly popular. “We get a LOT of people from the RV Park” he noted. He shared with me that their self-grooming service is slowest during the summer and busiest during the spring and winter. Skyler led me to the self-service room where an employee was washing a customer’s dog. The tubs and floors were free of dog hair and the shampoos and tools were neatly hung on the walls. Dogs get washed in their own tubs with the supplies provided and a small wooden door traps any potential escapees. The environment was very fun and clean and I gathered that washing your dog at a place like this is truly a mess-free and stress-free experience.

It's a Breeze

I can definitely see how travel and self-service dog washes are a perfect match. They’re fast and fun, which makes it easier for those on the go with four legged friends. You can bond with your dog while keeping them clean at the same time and their professional equipment saves you time and money. Plus, your dog will feel at ease because you’re washing them instead of a stranger.
