Location is excellent and it’s the best value for downtown Halifax. Staff are good and the area is quiet. Everything was clean and in good shape.

Positives:
Good location close to waterfront and the restaurants on Argyle Street. Staff were helpful and pleasant.
The Tempo coffee shop next door was convenient but desperately understaffed and we were advised to eat elsewhere. The Bluenose eatery down the road was much better.
Building work didn’t affect us as we didn’t have a car but the hotel gave us notice of potential inconvenience and an alternative entry point.
Negatives:
No housekeeping service even for a 3 night stay. It’s ok offering clean towels and coffee replacements at reception but as guests would have preferred the room to be refreshed and cleaned. I can make beds/ empty waste-bins/ trip over wet towels at home, I don’t pay to have to do it on holiday. Staffing is clearly a problem that needs attention.

Service was slow and prices way too high. Waitress was pleasant.
Negatives:
The hotel is very dated and shabby. Hallways and the room next to us very noisy until after midnight. Because of the construction, it is too long a walk for most seniors from the parking garage.
