Positives: You cannot beat the location of the Scandia Motel. It is on the edge of Carlsbad--an easy walk to cafés and restaurants and a 5 minute walk to the beach. It is not fancy, but it is clean, well-kept--the owners clearly take pride in tending the grounds--and a wonderful surprise to find in Carlsbad. If your priority is ease of movement around Carlsbad and its delights, then this is the place.

Negatives: My wi-fi connection was weak which made working difficult--but I never complained. I simply went to cafés to work.
